Lawrence Calcagno

Calcagno attended the California School of Fine Arts on the GI Bill, from 1947-1950, where he was awarded first prize in painting from the San Francisco Museum of Fine Art. He then lived and worked in Europe and North Africa from 1950 to 1955, studying at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere, Paris Institute d'Arte Statale Floreiree. He continued to work and exhibit throughout his life, and is included in collections and museums internationally. His style ranges from meditative linear abstract landscapes to free-form abstract expressionism.
